Ingredients
- 3oz butter
- 3.5oz sugar
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate chips (if you need soy free chocolate, chop up a soy-free chocolate bar)
- 2 eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup nuts (walnuts, macadamia nuts, or pecans work well)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Melt the butter in a saucepan at low heat, then add sugar
- Once fully mixed, remove from heat and add chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
- Beat for 1-2 minutes with a hand mixer or whisk.
- Add eggs one at a time, and vanilla, and mix well.
- Sift cocoa powder and cornstarch into saucepan, then add salt.
- Mix well then beat again for 1-2 minutes until smooth and shiny.
- Grease or line a pan about 8x8" or 9x9" and line bottom with the nuts
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 22-30 minutes or until the brownies are set in the center.
- Allow to cool for 30-45 minutes before cutting into squares.
